Hey Everyone,
Well recently i was doing paid to click sites on my laptop and ended up getting a horrible virus! To the point where i am in the process of reinstalling windows xp (which is why i did not post payment proof for no-minimum.com till Wednesday). I am still in the process of fixing it but thought i would take a break to write this. But anyway I also noticed i was getting virus's on my laptop at work as well (ek) an it wouldn't stop getting virus's. I finally wrote someone on yahoo answers for a good malware protection program and this one guy wrote me saying and i quote
"One reason so many machines are corrupted is the use of Internet Explorer with 'active scripting' enabled. [This is that setting: IE> Tools> Internet Options> Advanced> Security: Allow active content to run files on my computer]
This setting allows a webpage to install software to your system, which may or may not be malicious; you have no way of knowing.
One of the best ways to avoid malware being installed from the internet is to use Firefox with 'NoScript' add-on as your primary browser, and fall back on IE as a last resort, to view or interact with a sub-standard webpage. Switch back to FF when finished.
Firefox download: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
NoScript add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=Noscript&cat=all"
Since him writting me to my question i have downloaded no-script on my laptop at work and have not had any problems since!
I strongly recommend using firefox for a lot of reasons, it runs a lot faster then internet explorer, it blocks most pop ups (very few get in) and it is more reliable! Firefox has many great add-on's you can add. If you are a web developer, they got a add on to help you program better. If you want firefox to go faster, they have that. I mean really it can go on, on all the possibilitys.
If you are constantly doing paid to clicks (like i do) i recommend downloading the add-on noscript because i have not had any more virus warnings since!!! Here is the disadvantage you WILL have to allow some sites to work. i have noticed some parts of yahoo will not work without messing with noscript. What noscript does is disable javascript which makes all the cool functions on sites work, but also helps avoid downloading anything without your permission. For some sites you will have to allow it, especially if you are filling out a form (for example signing up for yahoo mail) since a lot of forms use javascript! Before you start using noscript i strongly recommend reading this before you begin surfing with noscript.
http://noscript.net/?ver=1.9.0.6&prev=
It helped me understand what i needed to do and not need to do to websites.
Also keep in mind for some sites you will have to use internet explorer (wal-mart and any bank is a fine example). so don't delete internet explorer just keep it there and use it when you need it only!
But please before becoming a paid to click person or get paid to or whatever "paid-to" site you want to do please download firefox and noscript to avoid future problems with your computer. especially if you don't know how to clean your registry key's (because lots of virus go to your registry key's).
I hope this will help you all avoid the same problems i ran into!
